Utah Spring Runoff 2011

By Utah Outdoor Activities

05/31/2011

With Utah's record snowpack and very wet spring season, Utah's streams and rivers will be flowing high for many more weeks.  Most of Utah's major waterways will be flowing higher then normal and even over flood stage.  High runoff turns small streams and tame rivers into unpredictable raging torrents which not only brings beauty but also danger.  The views of a raging river make it irresistible to get close, take pictures, and feel the power of mother nature.

When spending time in the Utah outdoors use caution around the rivers, especially if you have little ones.  With the cold water and turbulent power the probability of survival is very low if you fall in.

Utah Outdoor Activities highly recommends viewing Utah's waterways from a distance.  Start your summer season off right, be safe, use caution and enjoy your 2011 outdoor season.
