Once Dan arrived at the pond I told him the
trout were biting on Rainbow Power Bait. Dan got his boys pole set
up and in the water, and started baiting his pole with some stinky
blood catfish bait. Within a minute his son let out a scream "I
GOT ONE". It was a beauty, a fat 16 inch rainbow. While Dan was
helping his son get his fish off the line, I had to grab his pole to
stop it from going in the pond. I handed the pool to Dan and he fought
with a large channel cat that ended breaking his line.

By the end of the day we had caught several
nice trout, some Channel Catfish and the catch of the day being one four
pound catfish caught by Dan's son off Power Bait. This is a great
location to bring the kids fishing! If the kids start to get bored
you can enjoy the extensive trail system that surrounds the park.
The park offers several park benches, picnic tables, kids play ground,
barbeque grills, large grassy picnic area, and even a beautiful water
fall. Of course don't forget the ducks and geese as they were
always waiting nearby for you to throw them a snack.

If you plan on fishing this pond be prepared
to keep most of the fish you catch. Although we were able to
release some of the Rainbow Trout most swallowed the bait right down.
The Channel Catfish however is a very tough species and can be released
most of the time. Always check the current fishing regulations and
be sure to help keep this place nice by cleaning up your trash.
