The Highest Point Of The Skyline Drive

By Utah Outdoor Activities

The Skyline Drive meanders its way for nearly one hundred miles along the Wasatch Plateau. The elevation of this scenic drive ranges from 9,000 to 10,897 feet which is the highest point. A large forest service sign marks this location and the views of adjacent mountain ranges and the Sanpete Valley are spectacular. On our visit we traveled up Manti Canyon to the top and then south on Skyline Drive towards Twelve Mile Canyon. The wild flowers were in full bloom providing mountain valleys filled with red, yellow, purple and white blankets of color.

Take your time and enjoy the fresh mountain air, beautiful mile deep canyons and views of several mountain lakes. At this elevation the season is short. Always watch the weather conditions as they can change in a hurry.  Even at the end of July remnants of the winters snow drifts are still visible. If you want to enjoy this beautiful location we highly recommend bringing your ATV's. The La Sal Mountains provide some of the best ATV trails located through out the state. Get out and visit the highest point of the Skyline Drive. If the elevation doesn't take your breath away the scenery will.
