The Patton ATV Trail

Back To Utah ATV Trails

The Patton ATV Trail is located up Manti Canyon. The staging area for the trail is approx 2.9 miles up the canyon. You will see a small sign on the main canyon road marked Patton Trail. The staging area offers plenty of parking, pit toilets and a detailed map of the trail.  There are several ATV trails offered up the canyon and they all eventually lead to the valley below or connect to one another. When we road the Patton Trail we actually started on Burnt Hill Road which is another trail that links to the Patton Trail. The pictures of the trail are us headed down to the staging area.

The trail winds its way through beautiful groves of Aspens and Pines. The trail also offers some challenging sections, mostly towards the trail head.

Directions - To get to Manti Canyon, take Hwy 89 to Manti. Once in Manti turn east on 5th south. This will take you to the mouth of the canyon.

Note: When heading up the Patton Trail the trail will fork. You will have the option to take the trail towards the Burnt Hill Road or you can head up towards Sky Line Drive, or down the sheep trail back into Manti. I have not taken the Sky Line or Sheep trail routes. So I'm unaware of the trail and its conditions.

Trail Update Submitted By Greg Wayman - The Skyline and the sheep trail require about the same ATV skills as the Burnt Hill Rd. The Skyline route will take you along the ridge line of six mile canyon (Sterling) or you can head back down Manti Canyon. The sheep trail begins just past the stock lumber yard on the east side of highway 89.

Trail Update Submitted By L Montoya Of Manti Ut - The Sheep Trail is a skilled trail, this is not the Sunday afternoon family tour.  The trail is steep and the the soil is alot of  loose shell.  I have not been on the trail since last year but it was challenging then, I'm sure with another year of weather and another year of light traffic the trail is getting more challenging.  Use caution and go with buddies on this one!!!

The route up to Skyline drive is similar in soil but not as steep.  More open flats.  A little more user friendly.
