The wildlife viewing opportunities are
abundant as you will have the chance of sighting Antelope, Mule Deer,
Wild Horses, Foxes, Coyotes, Badgers and more. The rolling hills around
the beds offer several locations to set up camp. While we were setting
up camp we were amazed on how close the Antelope would graze around us,
which provided some excellent viewing opportunities.

The first part of the day we collected
beautiful Geodes in a brand new pit. There were Geodes laying all over the
ground and for those that are willing to put forth some effort you
could dig them right out of the dirt wall. Collecting for full
unbroken Geodes was easy and fun for the whole family. The
most exciting part is breaking them open to reveal the treasure
inside!

After a nice day collecting Geodes we
decided to head back to camp just before night fall. As we set in our
chairs and relaxed by the campfire were treated with a beautiful sunset
across the desert valley. After a good night sleep we were awakened by
the sound of hackling Coyotes. To some, this may be unnerving but to us
this was the opportunity to get out of bed and try to locate the Coyotes
for some photo opportunities. The illusive Coyotes once again kept their
reputation and slipped away in the vast stretches of Utah’s West Desert.

If you’re searching for a location to
get away from it all try the
Dugway Geode Beds. Please be prepared and take plenty of
water, spare tires, extra gas, first aid kit, cell phone and more.
Be sure to bring you camera along for beautiful desert photo
opportunities.
