The
Bear Lake KOA is a
perfect location to begin a great day of exploring
the Shoshone ATV trail system. Directly behind the
park is a trail head that will lead to hundreds of
miles of ATV trails. From the KOA the trail follows
the lower portion of the mountain behind Garden
City, Utah. You will travel by an operational
gravel pit then turn right and head up the mountain
until you come to a "Y" in the trail. Travel
Southwest, and this portion will take you to the
Bear Lake Overlook up Logan canyon.
Entrance
To The ATV Trail System
The trail will lead you through thick groves
of Pines, Aspens, Wildflowers, and of course provide spectacular views
of Bear Lake. Once at the top you will travel on the right side of
HWY 89 to a tunnel currently under construction by the Forest Service.
This tunnel will provide access under HWY 89 to the Hardware Ranch Road.
Once on the Hardware Ranch Road you will have an abundance of riding
opportunities.

the "Y". Stay on the lower portion and travel towards HWY 89.
Just 1.5 miles from the
tunnel will be the first marked ATV trail you can
experience.
The Hodges ATV Trail starts off in
a large sage brush valley, then descends into the canyon. You
will be treated with several stream crossings and the trail leads
through thick forested areas. Other trails in the area include
the
Little Bear Trail,
Trail #255, and
Trail #175, are accessible from the
Bear Lake KOA.
If you want to experience the many trails in
the beautiful Bear Lake Area, but want to stay in a location that
provides comfort, swimming, full line of groceries, gas and much more,
try the
Bear Lake KOA!
